Applications Now Open for BMI’s Prestigious Roofing Apprenticeship Competition 2025
BMI is inviting aspiring roofing professionals to apply for the 2025 BMI Apprentice of the Year competition, a premier event designed to highlight emerging talent in the industry.
Now in its eighth year, this highly regarded competition provides apprentices with an opportunity to demonstrate their expertise, connect with industry leaders, and compete for significant cash prizes and exclusive training opportunities.
An Opportunity to Shine in Roofing
A total of 20 apprentices will be selected to participate in the grand finals in July 2025 at the BMI Academy in Gloucestershire. Hosted by BMI UK & Ireland, the event is backed by its leading roofing brands, Redland and Icopal.
The competition is open to apprentices specializing in both pitched and flat roofing, allowing them to showcase not only their technical skills but also their teamwork, presentation, marketing, and business acumen.
Over two days, competitors will engage in hands-on challenges designed to test their practical abilities and professional development.
Recognizing Future Industry Leaders
At the end of the competition, two winners will be crowned—one in pitched roofing and one in flat roofing. A panel of esteemed judges, consisting of experienced professionals from the roofing and construction industries, will evaluate each apprentice based on their performance. Additionally, competitors will receive valuable coaching and feedback to enhance their skills.

How to Apply
Apprentices interested in participating can submit their applications before 14 April 2025. The shortlisted finalists will be announced in May 2025, and the grand competition will take place in July 2025.
